When Paul fist entered Athens, he found a city “wholly given to idolatry” (Acts 17:16). As he explored the city, Paul found altars to an assortment of false gods. Eventually he came across an altar with the inscription: TO THE UNKNOWN GOD.
Our communities are becoming more and more like the Athens Paul encountered. There was a time when the different denominations agreed on the core essentials. Today, four churches on the same street might all profess Christ, but three of them are professing a Christ not found in scripture. The true God of scripture is becoming more and more the "Unknown God". In Galatians 1:6, Paul marveled at how quickly some fell for "...another gospel". He warned us to avoid a man-centered gospel.
That altar and it's inscription stood out to Paul. It provided him a means to profess the Gospel.
The core purpose of this ministry is to help your small church stand out like that altar Paul found: to boldly proclaim the message THE UNKNOWN GOD to a lost and dying world. There are several ways this ministry can assist you, including:
- Pulpit Supply
- Website design
- Church Evaluation/Revitalization
- Sermon notes
- Computer Support
- Home Church options
Please note: The focus of this ministry is assisting small churches. Many small churches do not have the funds, resources, or talents to do these things “in-house”. While I will help churches up to 100 members, most churches I work with average 10-50 member range.
